#1 Way to Market Ourselves and Get Leads

I’m Jeffrey St Laurent with SellingCoaching.com and today I’m going to teach you the number one way to market ourselves to get leads.

So what’s the number one way to market ourselves and get leads? It’s simple. Get out there, and get out from behind your computer and meet people and speak. You’ve got to speak in front of people – in person, on the phone, you’ve got to have videos of yourself and it could be videos of yourself like I am doing here, you could video yourself doing a seminar, you could have audio files recorded of yourself doing live events as well. But we’ve got to get our message out there and people have to hear energy in our message and start to understand who we are and what we can do.

Most people don’t know that they require a coach. They don’t even know what coaching is. They might have heard of it maybe, but most people don’t really know what that is, nor as we know, can we really explain to them what really a coach does, like what we do with people… We don’t even know, right?

So the point here is that they don’t know this stuff until they see you at an event, until they hear you on the phone, until they find you online and watch a video of you, or they hear a recording of an event, or a phone call that you did.

When they start to listen to you and they go; “Wow, this person is good”, “Wow, I almost feel like they understand me”, or “I see a part of myself in them”, or “I see a part of myself in them that I want to become”, or “…that I want to be more like, and I want to emulate them”, or “I respect them for what they’ve done”.

And all of a sudden you have a trust with them, you have a credibility with them. And that’s what they require in order to even want to consider working with you.

So what’s the number one thing we need to do in order to market ourselves? It’s we need to speak, we need to share our message, find a format, like I said, there’s many ways we can share that message. But whatever it is, find a format that you feel good with. You don’t have to be comfortable with it, you’ve got to get comfortable with it in some ways, but you got to become comfortable getting yourself out there.

It’s like I said, what are the best ways? Do a live event. In person live event. You can do a live telephone call, so people are calling in you’re doing in live, alright? With those things you can also record those. I would encourage you to record those.

So now, you have not only done that and you’ve got one opportunity there, but you’re creating other opportunities because now you’ve recorded them, you can put them online on your website, on your blog, turn those into products eventually or you can turn them into products if you’re doing it from the beginning, but the point is you have the live event you can record… and there’s other avenues as well, you can also make videos of yourself, or create a video blog just like I’m doing.

But just think about it, it is when people start to understand you more, the more they see themselves potentially working with you, that’s when they’re interested in finding out more.

If you don’t share your message, they’re going to never hear about us, they’re going to never get our message, they’re going to never know who we are and they’re never going to hire us, that’s just the bottom line.
